Kristina Ahern, owner and director of Santosha Springs Yoga, has been teaching yoga in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar for nearly 2 decades.  This holistic approach to the teaching of yoga emphasizes practices that fit individual capabilities and goals in a step-by-step manner. In honoring and respecting each person, a sense of self-empowerment in relationship to one’s well-being is established over time.

This accessible approach to health and healing resonates with Kristina, as she believes that each person is unique and has the ability tap into their inner wisdom and potential to improve the quality of their life.

Kristina is registered with Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT500 level and is a CYT (Certified Yoga Therapist).  She has trained with many teachers within her tradition of choice, most notably within the KHYF (Krishnamacharya Healing Yoga Foundation) of Chennai, India.  She also participated in a yoga therapy internship at the Krishnamcharya Yoga Mandarim in Chennai.  In addition to teaching group and individual yoga/therapy classes, Kristina has spent years studying and refining the art & discipline of Vedic chant with her teacher, Sonia Nelson, of the Vedic Chant Center in Santa Fe, NM.  Kristina offers individual instruction, group classes and workshops in this ancient practice of refining the mind, developing the breath and connecting to one’s inner wisdom.
